These findings are based on the EurOMo pilot database, consisting of a sample of opinion-shaping news media and laws related to transparency in media ownership in all 27 EU countries. Data from AT, BE, CZ, DE, DK, ES, FI, GR, HU, IT, LT, NL, PT, SE and SI reflect the situation on 31st May 2022. Data from BG, CY, EE, FR, HR, IE, LU, LV, MT, PL, RO and SK reflect the situation on 30th April 2023. Read the full methodology.

The heatmap shows country performance in (unweighted) dimensions in a suitable form for assessing which dimensions have higher or lower risk across the EU (cross-dimension comparison).
The radar graph shows country performance in (unweighted) dimensions in a suitable form for cross-country comparison of performance in specific dimensions. Choose between combined or separate visualisation. (De)select countries to determine which ones should be compared.
The EurOMo is a pilot project co-funded by the European Commission to monitor media ownership transparency in Europe. It is operated by a consortium higher education institutions (HEIs) and research institutes, coordinated by the University of Salzburg.
