The following table has been used to attribute weights to the availability of information about media outlets in different market sectors in the EurOMo Risk Index 2023. These weights are calculated based on news use of each media market sector (print, radio, TV, web, digital interemdiaries) according to the Eurobarometer (2022). The weights of digital platforms are considered as the sum of “social media” and “video platforms” use for news in the Eurobarometer.

The EurOMo is a pilot project co-funded by the European Commission to monitor media ownership transparency in Europe. It is operated by a consortium of higher education institutions (HEIs) and research institutes, coordinated by the University of Salzburg.
